Prayers for Children: An Interfaith Call to Action

Marian Wright Edelman, the President and Founder of the Children’s Defense Fund, and other local and national interfaith leaders will lead a call to action that highlights children’s issues.
Children Welcome! The service will feature an interfaith children’s choir, children’s drum group, and children’s story
Sponsored by Mecklenburg Ministries, Council for Children’s Rights and Freedom School Partners and supported by the Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee.
The goals of this service are to :
• Draw together DNC delegates, elected leaders, members and leaders of the faith communities, and members of the Charlotte community across party lines to focus attention on the faith-based imperative to seek justice for children and the poor
• Elevate this priority in the election-year conversation about our national priorities and the leadership we expect from those, regardless of party, who would represent us.
Note: Clergy will meet with Marian at 2:30 p.m. for a photo and then be part of the clergy processional.
